Tile Conservation

The conservation of tile needs specialist knowledge and experience. Particular skill is required in lift tiles for relaying without damage. There has been considerable research on tile conservation in recent years, particularly as the damage in heavily trafficked areas is more appreciated. Specialist conservators should be used particularly for pre industrial floors such as marble or encaustic tiles or those modern floors of artistic merit such as mosaic.
