Clay tiles : Ornamental Tiles

Ornamental peg tiles, such as fishtails, have been around as long as plain peg tiles whose origins are in the 12th century. They are used on roofs, usually as bands of decoration, or for tile hanging. The point and bullnose are some of the older patterns, used in the early 1700ís, with the more complex patterns with shoulders, such as club and diamond being particularly popular later on. In the late 19th century more ornate patterns emerge.
