Tuck Pointing

Tuck pointing was developed in the 18th century to imitate the fine joints of rubbed brickwork. It consists of mortar stained or coloured to the same colour as the brickwork to give a consistent background and a fine lime putty joint. It requires great skill and there are only a limited number of bricklayers who can carry out such work.
