Brick Staining & Colouring

Brick staining has a long history. Since the 15th century, there have been examples of brickwork being coated in ruddle, a red coloured limewash. In the 19th century red ochre was used to redden the colour of brickwork. Today colour stains are useful for toning in brickwork or hiding discolouration.
